About Bailey Creek Ranch
Our Story
Bailey Creek Ranch is an 82 acre northern California retreat about 45 minutes east of Red Bluff and Redding that will thrill those who seek the tranquility and beauty of gin-clear creeks, the cool shade of lovely maple, oak, and pine trees, and the privacy afforded by a shared border with Lassen National Park.
The trout fishing is great in the two creeks and in one of the 2 large ponds (the other pond is loaded with bass and panfish) and all are just steps from your door. The ranch was formerly known as Bailey Creek Lodge, created and managed by Peter Mitchell, and was a well-known fly-fishing destination for many years. The ranch is an ideal vacation spot for both serious fly-fishermen and their family or friends.
Today, you'll find a lovely 5 bedroom / 5 bathroom home with a large swimming pool. The ranch and the surrounding areas offer wonderful recreation opportunities. While hiking, fishing, relaxing, and wildlife viewing are all possible on the property, Blue Ribbon Trout Fishing locations are nearby, hiking and camping in Shasta and Lassen National Parks, downhill or cross-country ski places, and so much more.
We plan to re-open the lodge in June of 2025.
Rates and FAQs
Rates
We only rent the lodge out to single groups. You will have exclusive use of the lodge and all of its amenities. $1700 per night (3 night minimum) for up to 10 guests during trout season.
The trout fishing season is the last Saturday in April through November 15th. You may fish the bass and trout ponds year-round as they are private. The rate outside of trout season is $1300 per night (3 night minimum).

Yes, we have very good WiFi but cell coverage is spotty.
You'll need a California fishing license if you'd like to fish.
This is a fly-fishing only property, unless you are fishing the bass pond.
There are not many dining options nearby, so be sure to bring your own meals.
There's is a very cute cafe about a couple miles from the ranch which we highly recommend if you need a break from cooking or just want a fancy coffee, burger, or beer.
No pets, sorry.
We're an easy 3.5 to 4 hour drive from the Bay Area.
